The future has imploded into the present. With no nuclear war, the new battlefields are people’s minds and souls. Megacorporations are the new government. The computer generated info-domains are the new frontiers. Though there is better living through science and chemistry, we are all becoming cyborgs.

The computer is the new “cool tool,” and though we say “all information should be free,” it is not. Information is power and currency in the virtual world we inhabit, so mistrust authority. Cyberpunks are the true rebels. Cyberculture is coming in under the radar of ordinary society. An unholy alliance of the tech world, and the world of organized dissent. Welcome to the cybercorporation. Cyberpunks…..

A fractal is a self-similar geometric shape that can be subdivided into parts, each of which is  a reduced-size copy of the whole. The term ‘fractal’ was coined by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975 and was derived from the Latin ‘fractus’ meaning or ‘fractured’ or ‘broken’.

  1. Mr.Ostin, I am a quilter who likes to thread paint art panels of fabric. I am deeply in love with your designs. I have a source that would print them on fabric if I have your permission to do so. I would not sell them, if they turn out nicely I might enter them in quilt shows (no prize money involved). I just want to meld your beautiful work with my love of quilting. I would share the results with you and even do one for you . They are designed to be wall hangings.

    Please consider it.

  2. Thank you Andy for these brilliant masterpieces and for showing us a glimpse into the future of fractal art – hope to see more of your great digital fractal art soon!
    Aloha!
