ETH Zürich created this light installation with stacking leds in a 3D array. This display measures 5 by 5 by 1 meters and is built with 25’000 luminescent spheres which are equipped by 12 light emitting diodes each, which can be activated one by one. The spheres can be updated at a rate of 25 pictures per second, and is able to display up to 16 million colors. It is exhibited at the main railway station Zürich in Switzerland. The display can show two-dimensional as well as three-dimensional images or abstract psychedelic-like content. |
