Finally: Cannabis legalized in New York, says CNN…:

That's what happens when Cannabis gets legal in New York...according to CNN...

What is Cannabis?
Cannabis is a flowering plants that includes three species: Cannabis sativa subsp. indica L., Cannabis sativa subsp. sativa Lam. and Cannabis ruderalis Janisch. These three plants are indigenous to central Asia and surrounding regions. Cannabis has long been used for fibre (hemp), as a medication and as a psychoactive substance.

Industrial hemp products are made from Cannabis plants selected to produce an abundance of fiber and minimal levels of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), the main psychoactive molecule that produces the psychoactive effects associated with marijuana. The drug consists of dried flowers and leaves of plants selected to produce high levels of THC. Extracts like hashish and hash oil are also produced. The dried flowers and leaves, which are often being smoked for recreational or spiritual use, are often called Marijuana.

I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower. God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong?

Is Marijuana legal?
Since the 20th century, most countries have enacted laws affecting the legality of cannabis regarding the cultivation, use, possession, or transfer of cannabis for recreational use. Many jurisdictions have lessened the penalties for possession of small quantities of cannabis, so that it is punished by confiscation or a fine, rather than imprisonment. Punishment focuses more on those who traffic and sell the drug on the black market.

Some jurisdictions/drug courts use mandatory treatment programs for young or frequent users with freedom from "narcotic" drugs as goal. A few jurisdictions permit cannabis use for medicinal purposes. However, there are also changes in a more restrictive direction as in Canada, Denmark, Netherlands or United Kingdom and drug tests, more or less mandatory, are more common than before in many countries.

Some countries allow the sale through drug companies. However, simple possession can carry long jail sentences in some countries, particularly in East Asia, where the sale of cannabis may lead to a sentence of life in prison or even death penalty!

Should Marijuana be legalized?
Look at this revealing statistics:

Annual American deaths caused by drugs

Tobacco 400,000
Alcohol 100,000
All legal drugs 20,000
All illegal drugs 15,000
Caffeine 2,000
Aspirin 500
Marijuana 0
(Source: United States government. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Bureau of Mortality Statistics)

So, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Marijuana caused ZERO deaths! Compare that to the death toll of nicotine and alcohol…

And let's hear what Jay Leno, American TV Host and Comedian, said about cannabis:

Scientists in Australia are working on making biodegradable car parts out of hemp. This might get confusing. When someone says, roll up the window, they might mean, roll up the window!

(Jay Leno)

Is Marijuana in fact less dangerous than peanuts?

Annual deaths of Marijuana: Peanuts

I dnt think so #js

  2. Marijuana should be legalized. Its the answer to getting this country out debt and building a stronger country. America has always grown produce so high tech that the quality of the product would out sell any other countries marijuana product. Its been proven to be beneficial for cancer patients, anorexia, glaucoma as well ;just to name a few medical and debilitating sicknesses. It should be regulated as far as age is concerned.Like anything else that has required rules and regulations, they have to be enforced by lawmakers . And another reason, I’m a taxpayer( we Americans work hard and pay taxes. So we earned that freedom choose to smoke marijuana) and I feel if getting high off marijuana is safer than alcohol ;it should be an option for us non-alcoholic drinkers to smoke. Its a part of living in America and being free …I thought at least thats why our forefathers died for our freedom while trying to protect our rights to live free. A lot less alcoholics on the road, too. And less crowding of the prisons with petty and minor crime such as possessing a mariuana cigarette or tobacco. Well its late so im done venting. dont know if it helps but it cant hurt. peace out. from Texas. Teresa

  3. Actually studies show that middle aged people who smoke pot have a better memory that those who don’t so would I give it to a kid no just like I wouldn’t give a kid a beer. And another thing I don’t have fewer inhibitions nor am I lazy in any sense and although I’m not a genius it doesn’t really affect my comprehention or my capabilty to attain knowledge

  4. would you give marijuana to a child?

No, you wouldnt , because it has some properties that we realise that arent good….

Its not totally harmless….lets be honest with ourselves

most stoners are emotional and have low ambition due to the marijuana they smoke…they also have low memory

so while it may not kill you….it does affect you in a negative way

  5. legalize it, get our state out of debt and make that the focus instead of Drinking, which I personally think is the worst thing you can do. more families break apart from drinking, more deaths occur from drinking. You never see anything like that from pot.

  6. In the last 30 years our government has spent 4.2 trillion dollars JUST upholding marijuana laws. In the last 30 years they have lost over 1.5 trillion dollars in taxes at least. That’s close to 6 trillion dollars, almost half of our current nations debt. Don’t try and tell me legalizing marijuana wouldn’t help the economy.

Hemp itself, is a very beneficial plant. It can be used as fuel, building materials, plastic replacement, food, and thousands of other thing. Hemp contains a very useful oil that can be used to power a million different things. In essence, the hemp plant can be used to power vehicles, homes, schools, hospitals, ect. all for free! Simply plant it, and it grows. The hemp seeds contain several essential amino acids while containing more protein than a soy bean; which means they are very healthy to eat! The fibers can be used to create any type of substance, they basically compact it down to a very hard substance. Houses have been built out of 100% hemp, plastic, bags, paper, rope, ect. It’s a much safer alternative to killing people for oil, or killing off the entire gulf of mexico for some oil. I’d rather just grow a plant…
