Why do I exist?

This young girl asks the well-known advaita (non-duality) teacher and guru Mooji from Jamaica a very deep spiritual question.

This absorbing gathering took place at Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, Southern India on 29th January 2010. At minute 6:40 she answers with "Arunachala", which is a holy mountain situated nearby. (Hinduists believe that Arunachala mountain is a manifestation of the god Shiva.)

Without her realising, the girl actually did 'self-enquiry', which is a practice designed to quickly bring about self-realization or spiritual liberation – also called enlightenment.

MoojiAnthony Paul Moo-Young was born on 29 January 1954 in Port Antonio, Jamaica. In 1969, he moved to the UK and he is presently living in Brixton, London. For many years Anthony worked in London's 'West end' as a street portrait artist. After that he was a painter and a stained glass artist, and later he worked as a teacher at Brixton College. He used to be well known as Tony Moo, but is now affectionately known as Mooji by the many seekers and friends who visit him.

Presently Mooji shares satsang (meetings where people discuss spiritual questions) in Brixton, London, where he lives. He also travels regularly to Ireland, Wales, Italy and India where he conducts satsangs and retreats.
