Internet soon to replace all functions of government – and then save all our other problems?

Robert Anton Wilson speculates that we are doing more with less energy every decade – and that the internet will finally "solve all our problems"!

I'm an unabashed optimist. I agree with Marx that politics follows economics, but I also agree with Buckminster Fuller that economics follows technology – and technology seems to lead more and more to decentralization of control or "Green" alternatives.

Also we're doing more with less energy every decade. Once we reach the point where Internet replaces all – or most – functions of government, we'll solve the rest of our problems easily.

(Robert Anton Wilson in his first interview with a Russian magazine.)

Robert Anton Wilson (1932-NEVER) was one of the most fascinating and important scientific philosophers of this century. He also worked as an futurologist, libertarian, essayist, psychologist and conspiracy theory researcher. Wilson has written many groundbreaking works of non-fiction and fiction. His great intelligence and sharp wit are easily able to shock and enlighten even the most stubborn domesticated primate nervous system.

And yes, he did die on 11th January 2007. Unfortunately he will not be able to watch his speculations about the internet unfold. Could this possibly happen, the internet solving all our problems in some way or another?

Another great quote of Robert Anton Wilson or 'RAW', as he was sometimes called:

"Is", "is." "is" — the idiocy of the word haunts me. If it were abolished, human thought might begin to make sense. I don't know what anything "is"; I only know how it seems to me at this moment.

  1. Robert Anton Wilson was such a cool and funny, and highly intelligent, writer and philosopher. I loved his books “Prometheus Rising” and “Quantum Psychology”
