Why Don’t You Become Your Own Artist ?

Glenn Gould's "Art would be unnecessary." (Picture: h.r.fox @ ultrafeel.tv)Why only look at other people's art – become your own artist!

Who is the artist of your life?
Consider this most revealing quote to the right: Glenn Gould tellingly shows us that we must be the artists of our lives!
Why rely on others to inspire us with their creativity?
Nobody ever gets validated as an artist, and so like god, we think of artists as somebody else, apart, above and beyond. Nevertheless, we can – and must – be creative for ourselves. What are we waiting for? Do we 'try to be creative' sometimes in the future? In a few years? Do we need to study arts to finally become worthy of freely expressing our own creativity?

Did you ever notice that all children are inherently creative?
Think (and feel) about this fact for a while…
Then try a foolproof test to find out why you are definitively qualified as being an artist!

Still not convinced? You think being creative is really too difficult for you? You believe it's somehow a complicated and mysterious process, where only special and chosen people have access to? Nothing could be further from the truth. See what Abraham Maslov had to say about creativity:

A first-rate soup is more creative than a second-rate painting.

The key question isn't "What fosters creativity?" But it is why in God's name isn't everyone creative? Where was the human potential lost? How was it crippled?

I think therefore a good question might be not why do people create? But why do people not create or innovate? We have got to abandon that sense of amazement in the face of creativity, as if it were a miracle if anybody created anything.
