The Majik Café is definitively Belgrade's most terrific restaurant. Located in the Serbian capital, famous industrial designer Karim Rashid created a breathtaking avant-garde art masterpiece.

Rashid created every detail with painstaking care. His Café is an impressive fusion of psychedelic luxury style, colors which exude an aura of happiness, complex line patterns and matching light effects.

Karim Rashid Karim Rashid was born in Cairo to Egyptian and English parents on 18th September 1960. In 1982 he received a Bachelor in Industrial Design from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and completed his postgraduate studies in Italy. Karim now resides in New York running his private design studio.

Rashid has created over 2'000 objects put into production and got over 300 awards, such as the Red Dot award, Chicago Athenaeum Good Design award, I.D. Magazine Annual Design Review, IDSA Industrial Design Excellence award. His work is is featured in 20 permanent collections in museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and he exhibits art in various galleries world wide.

His award winning designs include designs such as the Garbo waste can and Oh Chair for Umbra, interiors such as the Morimoto restaurant, Philadelphia and Semiramis hotel, Athens and exhibitions for Deutsche Bank and Audi. Karim has collaborated with clients to create democratic design for Method and Dirt Devil, furniture for Artemide and Magis, brand identity for Citibank and Hyundai, high tech products for LaCie and Samsung, and luxury goods for Veuve Clicquot and Swarovski and others.

Karim's work has been featured in magazine and books including Time, Financial Times, NY Times, Esquire, GQ and countless more. In 2009 Rizzoli released Karim's latest monograph KarimSpace, featuring 36 of Karim's interior architecture designs. Other books include Karim's guide to living, 'Design Your Self' (2006), 'Digipop', a digital exploration of computer graphics (2005), as well as two monographs titled 'Evolution' (2004) and 'I Want to Change the World' (2001).

Karim Rashid is a frequent guest lecturer at universities and conferences globally propagating the importance of design in everyday life. Even in his spare time he is determined to creatively touch every aspect of our lives by DJing and engaging himself with art and fashion.
